About Beat Press

Beat Press was established in 1996 to publish "Law Enforcement Links - A Law Enforcement Guide to the World Wide Web."  The first edition listed and described in detail and rated over 500 sites of interest to law enforcement on the Internet's World Wide Web.

The author, Larry Wilson, a police officer, submitted his manuscript to a number of the mainstream publishers. Each submission was very time consuming with the results usually the same. The publishers felt that the book was a good idea but the target audience too small. The author was convinced that it was a good product and decided to self-publish it. That's when Beat Press was born.

Beat Press had great success with  "Law Enforcement Links." The first edition was sold to law enforcement agencies all over the world.   It was such a success that it led to the recent release of the 1997 edition which lists over 1500 sites and comes with a diskette that includes every site already bookmarked for your browser.

Notwithstanding the success of "Law Enforcement Links," Beat Press plans to expand its line of publications by adding books from other authors and publishers relating to law enforcement. Beat Press looks forward to hearing from anyone who has written or published a book in this category.
