| Book Description: |
If you've ever
wondered what life behind the badge is really like, Music City Blues has the
answer. From the grueling training academy through 18 years of patrolling some of the
meanest streets in Tennessee's capital city, Music City Blues focuses on some of
the most unusual and noteworthy events encompassing the career of Metro Nashville TN
Police Officer Mark Fielden. From domestic disputes, DUI'S, high-speed police pursuits and
prostitution stings, the reader is introduced to a side of law enforcement that is not
often seen by the public. Policework can be both gruesome and glorious, and it's these
moments of soul-wrenching tragedies and fist-pumping triumphs that comprise the book.
Each chapter of Music City Blues concentrates on a separate "slice of
life" with regards to the types of crimes and social issues that confront law
enforcement officers on a daily basis. Though the book does not reveal any promising
solutions to these problems, it does attempt to provide the reader with a better
understanding of the emotional and judicial factors that govern a cop's actions in a
variety of stressful situations. |

portray his brother's occupation as one of society's most trying ones, and he chocks the
170 pages full of evidence." |

account of an officer's feelings and really makes you think about what these incredibly
brave (or crazy?) individuals go through every day." |

Business Joumal |
| "An honest and accurate
depiction of first-line response calls for service by police. The work, although sometimes
humorous, was realistic ... a reminder why I've kept this job for the last 24 years."

| "Music City Blues is
one of the most interesting and captivating police books I have ever read ...a very
accurate portrayal of police work from the eyes of a street smart cop. For those
individuals that really want to live and respond to police calls from the safety of their
den, Music City Blues should appear at the top of the best book list ... the book
somehow creates an atmosphere that you are on the streets of Nashville answering police
calls and think what do I do next?'. Excellent reading, on a I to I 0 scale, I rate Music
City Blues a 12. |
